I think there's something that needs to be continually emphasized. That is: TEST.
Test everything. Don't just listen to things and decide for yourself that it's true because Dan said it, or it worked for that guy, or I read it in this book. Go out and test it and see for yourself.
I've been doing this a lot lately, and been trying to be shameless in the way I've been testing things and having some really interesting and suprising results. One of them was today at the gym. I've never approached girls in the gym for some reason. I realize it's because of an old programmed belief from reading PUA material for a few years. They often say; 'Never approach a girl in the gym because she's sweaty, in the zone, and the last thing she wants is for a guy to come up to her and interrupt her work out etc." When I saw this girl in the gym I felt I wanted to approach, I felt nervouse and realized I still had this rule which I had never tested. So I walked up to her, put my hand out, and said "Hi my name's Mitchell." She goes "Hi I'm Genevieve." I say "Look I'm just testing this rule out that I can't approach girls in the gym that I find really attractive." And the conversation was just incredible after that. We started talking about rules that were made by society, dancing, cooking, and values. As the convo was coming to an end after around 10 min, I said (using the 3x model to explore how i was feeling about the convo ending) "I feel like I want to cook something with you. Let's have a cooking sesh and invent something at my house next week." She was really keen, and it felt soo good to test the rule and break it. I think it's important to realize that even after introducing myself, had she told me she had a boyfriend or whatever, the rule had still been tested and broken.
So, in my opinion, continually testing is the only way to see the changes that you want and to reprogram years of shitty/not useful programming - to test it and prove to yourself that this is the new reality that you live in. Don't just accept things, test! Thoughts?
