Hey boys and girls-
We've been having some excellent discussions here and we'd like to share them with the world by making the forums public.
Originally we made it private to keep out spammers, but we've realised that the privacy setting limits growth pretty strongly.
Basically we're sending the bouncer on holiday, and letting anyone in who wants to check out our club.
There are a few big advantages -
+ Makes it easier for people to discover what BROJO is all about
+ Makes it easier for discussions to happen here (first) and then for the OP (original poster) to link it back to Facebook when they want to. We've been seeing some great discussions there lately, but they will disappear quickly because of how FB works.
+ RSS Feeds will start working- currently they don't, in a private forum. That means we can use a good news reader, and keep track of all the discussions way more easily than we can now. (ProForums promises email notifications as well, eventually)
+ It aligns better with BROJO's core values. We are all on the path to becoming shamelessness beasts, and a private discussion room doesn't really match up with that. We challenge you to speak openly, even once the bouncer has gotten the boot.
Currently we have both bros and babes in the forums, and we approve pretty much all membership requests. We'd like to grow the numbers a lot, so as much as possible let's start bringing discussions here instead of on Facebook.
Having said that, we're aware that this change brings an added sense of publicity so we wanted to give everyone a week to prepare. I don't think any of the content we've currently have is overly private, but I don't want to assume that everyone feels that way.
Please don't delete anything you've written, but if you'd feel better tweaking details in anything you've shared, please feel free. Or, even better, embrace the SHAMELESS BEAST within.
If you regularly post things that you feel are sensitive, we encourage you to keep doing that, but consider adjusting your profile name and photo so that they don't obviously identify you to the general public. You can always tweak it later as the beast matures.
We'll tentatively schedule the GO PUBLIC date for next Thurs 05-Nov.
